At the Customs
You will arrive at Atlanta's Hartsfield International airport after a long flight. You leave the plane and enter the airport terminal. There are a lot of people speaking English. We hope you can understand them and they can also understand you. You follow the signs to US immigration and customs and go into a large room. You stand in line with other non-US citizens. Finally it's your turn. You are about to have your first conversation with an American.
W: Good afternoon, may I see your passport please?
M: Yes, here it is, and here is my visa.
W: Thank you, you have a tourist visa for 3 months?
M: Yes that's right. I plan to travel some in the US.
W: Where are you going?
M: I'm going to spent some time in Atlanta. After that, I'm going to Washington, Chicago and California.
W: All right. Enj oy your stay!
The agent then gives your card. After the clearing immigration, you must now go to US customs with your luggage which you pick up in baggage claim area. You present the card the immigration agent gave you. The custom agent smiles and says:
C: Hi, anythings to declare?
M: Excuse me?
C: Do you have any valuables and alcohol to declare?
M: No, nothing at all.
C: OK, you can go ahead.
M: Thank you.
